Ahoj! čau!
Monday it was fun to skype with my family. They are the best. I can't believe how much my brothers have changed and grown up. CRAZY! We were able to find two potentials and then we made Halušky with the Dransfields and invited a less active over to eat with us. The Elders also gave him a beautiful priesthood blessing becuase he is really struggling with some things.
Tuesday we had district council in Jihlava and did some group finding. Some of us sang while the rest of us solo contacted. I met this cute mom and taught her the resto. She spoke really good english so we spoke half in Czech half in English. Then that evening we taught our English class. I love the people that come to English every week. They are so cool. Now all of them are staying for the lesson at the end too!
Wednesday we had a lesson with Tonda. He expressed some concers and said he feels the same and gets the same help when he doesn't pray compared to when he does pray, so we are working on that. During our contacting block, we met this guy who noticed our English accents and started talking in English we explained who we are and what we are doing and then he asked how he could set up and have a lesson with us. So we have a lesson scheduled with him this upcoming week. The lord really is preparing people, even if it doesn't seem like it sometimes.
Thursday we had a lesson with Miroslav who is a guy we contacted on the street and set up with. He brought his dog with him, so his dog came in the church and Miroslav laid his coat down for the dog, and the dog stayed there the whole time. Miroslav really liked to talk and shared stories, but we were able to get the restoration in. Then we had dinner a family in the branch. That was fun, they have 2 really cute little boys.
Friday we had exchanges with the STL's. I went with Sister Ebert who is only a transfer older than me. It was fun trying to talk to people, we really had to work as a team. haha. It was good though and we found 5 potential investigators together and got a lesson set up for later in the week. We did some group finding and one of the branch members, a young boy, came with us because he wanted to do missionary work. That was really cool. I admire his example. We also did some tracting that evening, and it was cold, and about time to quit, but I said "Let's do one more house." So we did, and the guy was so open to our message. He came down and talked to us and we shared the Mormon with him. He said we could come back too! Just that little bit of extra effort, made a huge difference. Even though we had been rejected all night, and yelled at a few times, we were able to find one prepared person. :)
Saturday we went contacting in the morning and no one wanted to talk to us. The streets were dead and no one was outside. They even turn all the traffic lights off here during the weekend. We decided to go tracting and talked to a nice catholic lady who was moving a bunch of books out of her house. We offered to help, but she refused. It is really hard to serve Czech people because they just do everything themselves and refuse help. Then we went ponolocking and rang someones door bell, they let us all the way up to the 7th floor and then said they weren't interested, so we decided to knock the other doors. We got to the fourth door and this guy came out and just yelled at us and then chased us all the way down the stairs and out of the ponolock, yelling at us the entire way. It was a little scary to be honest.
Sunday we had a great church. Sestra Sewell and Elder Dransfield gave talks in sacrament. Then we went tracting and got so many doors slammed on our faces and had so many people yell at us. Trebic has been tracted so many times because it is such a small city. Everyone here knows us. So then we went tracting with the Elders and had 2 people say we could come back.
Today we went on a vylet (day trip) to a castle in Jaroměřice. It was so pretty. I felt like I was in a fairytale. It had beautiful gardens and just gorgeous architektura. I felt like a princess at a castle. It was fun to spend time with the Dransfields. Then we came back and I talked to my amazing family!!!! Love them so much. Then we just finished having a lesson with a very catholic lady who I contacted with Sis Ebert on exchanges this week. She gave us 3D printed catholic crosses and catholic prayers. It was a good lesson. We focused heavily on the authority being lost and it went well.
I know God hears and answers our prayers. I know that when the days are hard, there are miracles just around the corner. We just have to endure to the end and knock on that one last door. I'm really grateful to be here in the Czech Republic. I wouldn't trade it for the world.
I love you all,
s laskou,
