Service and deaf miracles -- February 18, 2019

Ahoj!

Jak se mate? Tento tyden byl skvely.

Tuesday we had district council and got some advice on how to help the people we are teaching. Then we did some group finding and sang some songs. It was snowing and cold. Then we visited Babi Poho (President’s grandma) at work and sang a song and shared a thought with her. The. That evening we had English and told stories to get them to practice speaking in English. Then we shared a spiritual thought about the scriptures and sabbath day observance.

Wednesday I had to go to Prague for Visa work. President went with me and helped me answer their questions and get all the paperwork figured out. He’s such a cool guy. Then when we got home, we contacted a deaf guy, we couldn’t communicate so I just gave him a resto pamphlet. About 2 hours later, he texted us and invited us to tea. So we accepted and on our way there, we ran into the Elders and one of them spoke a little sign language, so they came with us and we had a good lesson with him. It was interesting because this guy had the hook ups, we were in a closed restaurant all by ourselves plus the workers there cleaning. This guy was having a hard time and so he was drinking and smoking his problems away. We did our best to help him out and testify to him.

Thursday we did a lot of finding. We went to Jihlava and set up a family history display with the Elders. It was great. We found some cool people. My cute little 9 year old friend Andrea was helping me contact. Afterwards we had inspiration night and had a good discussion.

Friday we found 2 awesome potentials. We also had a Branch game night, but the only people that showed up were President Fejta and his wife, Martin and us. It was good though. During our spiritual thought, our phone was blowing up... it was the Dransfield’s announcing the changes to us that we can now talk to our families every Monday. That was exciting news!

Saturday we found 2 more potentials. Then we went to do service for this cute family that comes to our English class every week. They gave us a tour of their house and business. I held a dragon/ lizard and also a bunny. Then we went out to their cottage. He was the most insane driver. Czechs are crazy drivers. We moved a bunch of fire wood for them. It was a fun service project. Then we taught our little neighbor boys English.

Sunday we studied come Follow me with the Kutilovi Family. After church, we had a lesson with Martin and President Fejta. We taught the word of wisdom because Martin is struggling with it. He is also out of a job right now and has an interview next week so we gave him some advice. Then we also had a lesson with Eva that evening. She is the cutest human being I know.
I’m really grateful for the opportunity to serve a mission. It is the best decision I have ever made. I wouldn’t trade the experiences I am having for the world. I know the lord truly is hastening his work with all the amazing changes  President Nelson is making. I’m so excited to talk to my family! I love you all and am praying for you.

S laskou,

Sestra Guymon
