Ahoj všichni,
Specific planning did bring miracles this week.
Monday we went and dropped off tracting letters to some house and then tracted a street. We wanted to find a babíčka (grandma)... literally the entire street we tracted had babíčký, at the door. It was amazing! One of the last houses we knocked was very promising and she said we could come back and talk with her more! We had two other people tell us we could come back, that was super cool! I watched Heavenly Father's work go down right before my eyes.
Tuesday we wanted to find a middle aged woman by contacting about trials and challenges. I found a scripture in my personal study, Alma 38:5 about that topic. We rewrote the scripture on a card, and left a spot to for people's names to make it more personal. It was a hit! Heavenly Father put so many middle aged women in our path. One of them we even exchanged numbers with!!!! Another woman we talked to... we asked her how her day was and she said terrible. We asked why, and she said her husband just passed away and she was coming back from the cemetary. We shared that scripture with her and tried to brighten her spirits. We also had a lesson with a guy named Rostislav. He is in his 30's and loves music. I played If you could hie to kolob for him on the piano to get a gospel conversation started, and he asked a lot of great questions. He is a really deep thinker and is studying quantum mechanics. He has buddest beleifs, cool guy though. Then we taught English to the begginners and it was really good for me, because I was learning a lot of Czech at the same time. Then the Sister Training Leaders came and we went to dinner.
Wednesday we went on exchanges with the STL's. Sister Carrillo and I went to a lesson with a woman named Ronata and taught the restoration. Although my Czech is very broken, the spirit was able to come into the lesson so strong when I bore my simple testimony about the Kniha Mormonova and recited the first vision that I memorized. It was such a good lesson. :) Then we went tracting... a lady answered the door and wasn't wearing any pants. It took me by surprise. Afterwards Sister Carrillo was just laughing at me becuase she says it happens all the time during the summer especially... except they have less clothes on. Then we tracted this house that had automatic lights and in the middle of talking to a man, the light turned out and Sister Carrillo just starts jumping and waving her hands tyring to turn on the light... I lost it... it was so funny.... the guy thought it was pretty funny too.
Thursday my mission Presidents mom, who is in my branch fed us lunch. We call her our babíčka (grandma) and she is so cute. She fed us so much food and it was so good! I talked her into letting me do the dishes... she wasn't having it at first, but I couldn't really understand what she was saying, so I just started doing them anyway. She was grateful though. It was my way of saying thanks becuase I can't really communicate very well. We went contacting and wanted to find a girl our age. We ran into so many of them. We talked about service and approached a group of three girls. They said they were interested in learning more about what we teach, so we got their number and set up a return appointment!!! That was awesome! MIRACLES!
Friday we had a lesson with Martin. He has been a member for a year, but is struggling. He got in a fight at a bar and his face was swolen, cut up, and bloody. Poor guy... we don't know what to do to help him. Our lesson with David fell through for the 3rd time so we went contacting for 2.5 hours. Literally no one was on the street. Everyone leaves the city and goes to their little cottages on the weekend. It makes the work hard, it was also freezing cold. We went to Jihlava in the evning for a relief society activity and made fun Christmas decorations. I really enjoyed it.
Saturday was a day of service. We went to a members house the Kutilovi's. They have 6 kids. They fed us lunch... Don't every eat fried Califlour... it is gross. We made christmas cards, christmas wreats, and decorated gingerbread. We had a little christmas concert becuase one of their sons and Starší Graff play the violin. They sounded great!
Sunday I was super sick... not a fun day... We called the mission nurse and she told me that I needed to stay home. It was awful. I basically just slept all day. I'm feeling a lot better now though. I don't know if it was from the food the day before, or like a 24 hour flu bug. We also walked to the town square and watched them turn the christmas tree lights on... I wasn't feeling that up to it, but I could tell my companion really wanted to go, so we went. :)
That was my week! I love you all!
