No Hot Water -- March 18, 2019

Ahoj,

Well it has been quite the week. Friday our water heater broke so our water is ice cold and no one works on the weekend. We are hoping to get it fixed this week. We have literally been boiling water to take showers, it has been fun.

Tuesday we went to Jilhlava for district council and did some group contacting in English about our English class we teach. Then we took a bus back to trebic and taught our conversational english class which was a lot of fun.

Wednesday we went on a long run in the morning. We go running every morning which I love. We had a rough time talking to people becuase no one wanted to talk. We then had a lesson with a cute babi (grandma) and she gave us a lithografie her husband made and it is beautiful. Then we had a lesson with Tomas who we contacted a while ago. He was busy then but got a hold of us and said he had time. We taught him the resto and he listened, but he was more interested in finding a girlfriend than talking about the gospel, so sorry buddy, but no. Then we translated branch council for the Dransfields and had dinner with them.

Thursday we had a very spirtual lesson with Tonda. He kept his commitment to pray and said it had made a difference in his life. We watched a talk with him called "am I a child of god" because he is still trying to find out if god exists. After the talk, Tonda had tears in his eyes. I said "I don't know about the rest of you, but I feel the Holy Ghost right now, and I know that he loves us. I know he loves you Tonda, and the Dransfields, and sister Sewell" We translated for the Dransfields because Tonda doesn't speak English and then Starsi Dransfield testified and cried and Tonda cried and the spirit was so strong. It was such a powerful experience. I know that God loves each and everyone of us. After the lesson Tonda sent us a text and thanked us and told us that we feel like his second family to him and that for some reason there is something different about the memebers in our church. He has also been asking us to send him scriptures to read. He is so cool and I see so much potential in him. That evening we were able to go to Jilhlava and we gave some tours to random people on the street through our church building. That was pretty cool. Then for inspiriation night we watched the movie Coco.

Friday we did a lot of contacting and had a tough crowd. We couldn't get anyone to talk to us. It was sad. Also that was the day our water heater broke and we called our landlord, he came over, but couldn't fix it and couldn't get anyone to fix it until this next week. It is literally worse than ice bath water. Then we did weekly planning and taught our neighbor boys english.

Saturday it was rainy and cold. We planned to have a lesson with Martin, and we were heading to meet him at the church when we met him on the corner of the street. He was completely drunk. He couldn't walk 5 feet without about falling over. It was so sad. We talked to him for a while and then this random guy came up to us and joined our group. It was strange. We asked his name and talked to him for a bit, then a woman came up and joined the group. I shook her hand and asked her name. Then I realized that they were less actives in our branch! So we were surrounded by three less actives. So we talked for a bit and then the 2 left to get on a bus and we sent Martin home to sleep. It was pretty crazy. Then we went tracting and someone threatened to call the cops on us, but they never did.

Sunday we studied come follow me with the Kutilovi family in the morning. Then we went to church and the missionaries ran it becuase the branch president was gone. Then we had an acitivity for the YW and YM. We ate lunch and played games. Then we had a lesson with Sister Machoskova and taught her the plan of salvation. Then we did some tracting.

Overall it has been a good week. It has had highs and lows. But it is when the spirit really touches the heart of the people you are teaching that makes the work all worth it. Even the cold showers. :)

s laskou,

Sestra Guymon
