3 Baptisms & Transfer -- October 14, 2019

Tuesday was our last district council of the transfer! It sure was a spiritual one where we reflected on the transfer and talked about what we learned. Our district leader went around and told each of us things that he learned from us which was really cool. After district council, he gave us our Mantra's which he typed up and framed with a picture of us. My mantra is something that is really special to me. I try to say it everyday. It is the vision I have for myself and the person I want to become. It lists things that I have committed to do everyday and I have signed it at the bottom. It was a really neat gift. Then we had English in the evening and had 6 people in our beginner class which is the most we have had this transfer. Afterwards, we had a lesson with Petr who is a miracle guy we tracted into at some college dormitories. We taught him the restoration and it was a really great lesson.
Wednesday was a really rainy day. We went out to visit Eliška with the Glassers. She has 6 kids and twin girls on the way. She is cute and I dont know how she does everything. We shared a thought with her and brought her a few things. Then we came home and went trackting. We met this cute grandma that invited us to a bible study class and we invited her to church. Then we did our studies and went to a Czech Resturaunt (U tří sedláků) with our district.

Thursday was quite the day. We had a really good needs based lesson with Andrea. It was the most spiritual lesson we have had in a long time. Her heart is being opened again and she is coming back around. Then we went and visited Věra. She wasn't doing super well today and is facing some health problems, but she is a trooper. Afterwards, we had a lesson with Martina who became a new interested person today. We met at a café and taught her the plan of salvation and set up to meet next week. Then we asked a lady on a park bench to helps us with our Czech pronunciation. She agreed and we opened up the Book of Mormon and read with her. Turns out, the missionaries tracted into her 2 years ago and she has a book of Mormon. Her friend came and sat by us too and we invited both of them to our Ping Pong activity. As of now, they are not super interested in the gospel, however, I have faith that they will come around.

Friday was very busy. We did our studies in the morning and then went to visit Pani vlkova. We were able to help clean her house. We swept, mopped, cleaned the windows, and mirrors. It needed it pretty bad and we came out of there smelling like cigarettes so we ran home and changed our clothes. Then we had to head back to the church for our branch ping pong activity. On the way we saw a grandma we tracted into a few days ago with her son clipping their hedges. Even though we were in a hurry, we felt like ae should go help. So we ran over and raked up the clippings and threw them away. We filled up a whole trash can and then had to run. They were super grateful and had big smiles on their faces and invited us to their bible study class. By some miracle, we made it to the church exactly the time we planned on and set up for ping pong. Unfortunately no one really showed up for our activity. Only 1 member, the branch President and his son and the missionaries. So we left early so we could go home and do weekly planning. We had to do weekly planning until 10:30 PM and then jump into bed because we really needed to get it done and didn't have time to do it.

Saturday we woke up at 5:30 AM and got on a train to go to Prague with Radek to watch 3 baptisms. The Plzen sisters in our district had a baptism! His name is Jiři. I met Jiři the very first time he came to church when I was serving in Plzen waiting for sister Draper to come. So it was cool to meet him the very first day when came to church because he read about us and wanted to see what it was like to the day he was baptized. There was another lorain baptized that other missionaries were working with and lastly s cute boy that just turned 8. That was cool to see because children growing up in the church and being baptized when they are 8 is pretty rare here. Radek really enjoyed it and I'm so glad that he came with us and felt the spirit. Also, when we were traveling there we got transfer calls. President told me that I'm going to Brno which is like the 2nd biggest city in the Czech Republic and that I will be in a trio.  I will have 2 really young missionaries. One I will finish follow up training and the other just finished her training. It will be crazy. I'm a little nervous about it. On the train home we met a girl from Turkey coming here to study and got her number to set up and meet with her. I also enjoyed talking to Radek he helped me a lot with my Czech.

Sunday morning I got up and worked on packing, then we went to church. I bore my testimony and helped translate. It was sad to say goodbye to everyone. I have grown to love this branch so much. They will forever be in my heart. Then we had a lesson with Mengmeng and Daquan. It was such a good lesson. We taught them the law of chastity and Mengmeng finally said the closing  prayer for us. It was beautiful and afterwards she said she felt good and warm inside. We explained that it was the holy ghost and that they can always have that feeling. They said they were sad I was leaving, and if they ever are in Brno they will stop by and visit me. It was cute. Then the Chrdlovi family invited us over for dinner with the Elders and the Glassers. They truly have become like a second family to me with their 3 kids Johi, štěpán, and tomáš.  Man, I love them. Then we had correlation with President Chrdle and then I finished packing.

Today I got on a 4.5 hour train to Brno. It will be a long trip.

I love you all and hope you have a good week!

Love,
