Ahoj,
Tuesday we had district council in Plzen and our mission President, President Gehring joined us. We had interviews afterwards too. It was so good to talk to him. That man is so inspired. Then he drove us to the train station so fast. But, we missed our train, so we had to catch another one. They were doing work on the tracks so we caught a bus first, then got on a train, and then had to transfer to another train to make it all the way home. We barely made it home for our English class. We whipped together a quick lesson and it went really well. We had 3 students. One was new. We actually ran into him when we were buying our groceries on Monday and he said he would come. I'm glad he did!
Wednesday we had a lesson with Andrea. She is not the same person. Her countenance has completely changed. We re-taught her the restoration, but her heart just didn't seem opened to the message like it used to be. I think her partner, Jirka, has been causing her to have doubts and giving her anti because she now has a lot of the same ideas he does. It is really frustrating, but there is honestly not much we can do about it. We are in a constant battle against Satan and we can't take away the agency of others. Then we visited Věra, shared a thought, and played uno. Afterwards, we had a lesson with Jiřina and taught her about prayer and scripture study. We were sitting on a bench under a tree for the lesson and then it started pouring rain. Thanks to the tree cover we stayed pretty dry. So it all worked out nicely.
Thursday we had 3 lessons fall through, so we had all day to find people. It was incredible because we saw lots of miracles and talked to so many people. The biggest miracle came when we went trackting. We felt like we needed to try a ponolock that had just been built. It was one big building broken up into 4 buildings. Each door had a list of people. At the first door and long list of names, we didn't have any luck. At the second one, a man invited us up. We went up a couple floors until we found him waiting at his door. We asked him a few questions and found out that he had met with the missionaries 15 years ago and had been to English class a few times. We talked to him about the Book of Mormon and asked if he had one, he said he thought he did, and went to find it. He came back with his Kniha Mormonova and a restoration pamphlet in it. That in itself was a miracle. He kept his Book of Mormon when he moved into his new apartment! We commited him to read a chapter and then taught him how to pray. Sister Draper gave an example prayer and then he prayed afterwards. It was really cool. This all happened on his doorstep because we couldn't go in with him being the only one that lived there. We got his number so we could follow up on his commitment to read. Then we went and rang more doorbells and tried not to get soaking wet because it started pouring rain. Well, we ended up pretty wet, so we jumped in puddles on the way home. Haha.
Friday we spent at a highschool. Radek got us in touch with a colleague and she invited us to come talk to her class about America. So we talked to about 30 students between the ages of 15-18 about the cultural differences and American holidays. It was fun. Then there was a 20 minute break and another class joined us. So we had about 40 kids and they all asked us questions. We were asked what we believed. So we were able to teach all of them the Restoration of the gospel. Many of the questions they asked we were able to tie back to points of the gospel. So we also touched on the Word of Wisdom and the law of chastity. It was incredible how many youth we were able to teach in such a short amount of time. Then we came home, did our studies and weekly planning.
Saturday we did our studies in the morning, then went and did some trackting out by the university. The campus was dead because it was Saturday. Then we went home to grab sports clothes and then went to clean the church. On our way, a security guard at a hotel called us over. Turns out he knew one of our returning members and has met with missionaries in the past. He was nice and interested and English class. So, I hope he will come to English and hopefully start taking lessons again. We cleaned the church and had a lesson with Radek about goal setting. Afterwards, we had sports night and had a good turn out. Radek, Krýstina, and Bratr Maška came. We also invited a random guy walking by to come play with us! He did, and he stayed for the spiritual thought! It was awesome.
Sunday we had a good turnout at church. I led the music and we had a great 5th Sunday combined lesson on the talk from last conference (April 2019) Careful vs. Casual. Then we came home and did companion study to prepare a lesson for Mengmeng and Daquan. We traveled to their new home and taught them the word of wisdom. It went really well and they committed to live it. Then we came home and finished personal study and language study. Afterwards, we had correlation.
Today we went to dívčí kámen which is some castle ruins and walked around it was a lot of fun.
I'm so grateful for the miracles I get to see everyday. I'm so grateful for my Savior who I can always count on. I cannot wait for General Conference this upcoming weekend! I want to encourage you to prepare questions and then listen for the answers during conference. I promise you that the spirit will touch your heart and help you find the answers to those questions. I know President Nelson and his apostles are called of God. I know they will share with us what Heavenly Father wants us to hear!
Have a wonderful week!
S laskou,
