Ahoj,
Monday we went up to Brno castle špilberk and it overlooked the whole city. It was beautiful. My companions also got some things for winter.
Tuesday we did our studies and then went to lunch at the De Vries house. Then we went and had a lesson with Tino and we taught the gosepl of Jesus Christ. Afterwards, we went to the church and our English students taught us pottery again. Then we taught English and went and picked up sister Twitchell and sister goldwaite. They slept over and went to training with us in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Wednesday we woke up at 4:15 and hopped on a train to Bratislava, Slovakia the country over. It was interesting crossing the boarder and the train ticket checker switching languages. Then Elder Copischke, a member of the 70 from Germany gave us a training. We talked about a new way to give commitments and instead of inviting or challenging people to do things we will now invite then to experiment upon the word. He gave us a new way to ask members for referrals and new finding ideas using family history. I'm really excited to apply what I learned. Then the Assitants to the President drove us home and we cooked dinner and began exchanges with the sister training leaders.
Thursday we had exchanges with the sister training leaders. We did our studies in the morning and then we went to lunch at an Indian restaurant and I got a free kofola mug. I was pretty happy about that. Then we went and visited a member. Afterwards, we came home and had interviews. Then the sister training leaders left and we went to Skype into a devotional. However, it didn't end up working which was sad. President said he would record it so we could watch it later. Then we came home and did 12 week.
Friday morning we took a train out to moravske branice to do service. We posted on Facebook that we were looking for service opportunities and a guy asked us to come help him clean his house. We went out there with the Elders and cleaned away both outside and inside. It was fun to get to know him too. He fed us lunch and gave me a recipe for gulaš, which I'm super excited about. Then he took us for a walk around his city and then he took a train back to Brno with us. It was a great service opportunity. Then we went to the church and started reading the new missionary handbook. Afterwards, we went to dinner at the Ferrell's house. We had 2 friends of the church and a returning member there. We also had a really great spiritual discussion. All the missionaries shared why they decided to serve a mission.
Saturday we did companion study then we went to the church and taught Czech class. Afterwards, we shared a spiritual thought and brother Ferrell brought homemade salsa. Then we went to support didi at his hockey game. His dad was a professional hockey player so he was telling us all the rules and introducing us to his friends. It was a cool finding method. Then we came home and did the rest of our studies and then went to simone's house for dinner. We finished the day by starting weekly planning.
Sunday we had a wonderful sacrament meeting and Sunday school. Then we ate lunch with the Přerovskovi family and shared a message about the Book of Mormon. They have 2 adorable kids. Then we came home and did all of our studies and finished weekly planning.
This week I have learned the importance of communication and openness. It really strengthens relationships; not only with the people around you, but also with your Heavenly Father when you turn to him in prayer. When was the last time you had a really open heart to heart conversation with Heavenly Father or those around you? I invite you to try it this week. Experiment and see what happens!
S laskou,
