Čau!
Tuesday we got up and did studies. Then we we went to the church and had call ins with the Sister training leaders and they gave me some invites on how to help my companions. Then we went to the De Vries house for lunch and shared a spiritual thought. Afterwards, we helped a returning member clean a house she is moving out of. Then we went to the church for a pottery class with one of our English students who is an art teacher. He brought a special kind of clay and will put everything in the kiln for us. That was super fun. Then we taught our English class. After that we went to dinner with Simone and he invited a friend over and we shared a spiritual thought.
Wednesday was busy. We had a member do language study with us which was helpful. Then we had district council and went and took a district picture for a Christmas Book that is being made. Then we did some finding and went to dinner with a member. She made us gulaš and we shared a thought with her. Then we came home and finished our studies. Also today was the first wednesday of the month so, at noon they tested the communist bells to make sure they work. It is just a loud siren that blasts through all the speakers in the city and then they turn it off. I always like to imagine what Czechs did back in the day when those sirens were going off.
Thursday we went to a cafe and did weekly planning and got some hot chocolate. Then we went and did some service. We helped some returning members clean up and unpack things in their new house. Then we did our studies and went to the Ferrell's house for dinner and shared a talk about humility and gratitude and how they work together.
Friday we did our studies and then went out to the dam for companion inventory and device audits because we were tired of being in the house. Then we were asked to go to the relief society activity and work out with them. We did like a zumba workout and it was honestly so much fun. The young men were doing karaoke with disco lights in the other room. Haha. Then we went to dinner with Adela. We met her at the Halloween party and she has met with a lot of missionaries in the past, so we just spent some time getting to know her. She is super awesome!
Saturday we taught a Czech class and afterwards had a spiritual discussion with Nikola. It is really cool to watch her grow and go from being completely atheist to start believing that God exists. We did a little bit of planning with the Elders for the upcoming week. Then we had sports night and played a little but of floorball and ping pong. Afterwards, we went and visited Simone and tried to bring him some joy. Then we came home and finished our studies.
Sunday we went to church and had the primary program. It was really cute. Then we went home and did our studies. Afterwards, we went to inspiration night and visited with people. We had a great discussion with Nikola and she prayed for the first time on saturday night.
This week I studied about gratitude. I did an exercise where I sat down and wrote down everything that I was grateful for. The people, the places, things, etc. It really helped me fill my heart with gratitude and love. It helped me recognize the blessings I have and the Lord's hand in my everyday life. I challenge you to try it. It is that time of year to share your gratitude. So take a minute and write down a few things you are grateful for and why. I promise you that as you do so, happiness and gratitude will fill your heart.
