Half Way -- May 6, 2019

Čau!!!

Jak se máte???

Monday we visited Hlubolka which I sent pictures of last week... the castle.

Tuesday was a really sad day because we had to drop a cute family. We were teaching them English and also the gospel, but they just weren't keeping any commitments. We had to set expectations with them and they said they were going to stay atheist and respected our religion. So that was hard, I really love that family, but they just aren't the most effective use of our time. We need people who will progress. We went running with the branch president and the elders early in the morning which was fun because we got soaking wet in the rain. Radek also canceled on us which was a bummer. We also had English and the man (Tony) we met at the open house followed through with his promise and made me a cake (bábovka). It was really yummy. He said he would bring me the recipe next week. Haha :) uvidíme.

Wednesday we went to visit a less active who lives in the "rougher" part of town. She was not interested at all in coming back to church because she had some kind of falling out with someone which is sad. We were also able to find one potential while we were contacting. We had a lesson with Radek and invited President Churdle to join us. It was a really good lesson and I was grateful for president's incites. Today also marked my 9 months on the mission, which is half way. I was honestly pretty sad about it. My mission is going by way to fast.

Thursday we woke up at 5:30 to take a train ride 2 hours to Prague and then took the metro to the church building for zone training. It was my first training without translation because Czech is an incredibly hard language. I always feel so inspired after trainings and ready to work. I discovered things I can do to improve in terms of missionary work and also in terms of my personal conversion to the gospel. I love the missionaries in the mission so much. We are all so tight because there are so few of us. There are only about 20 missionaries in my zone. Afterwards a few of us practiced for a musical number for the mission wide conference that is coming up. Then we took the train home with our district and played the guitar and sang for 2 hours in our little cubby. It was a blast.

Friday we were pretty busy. In the morning, we had a lesson with Vaclav and taught the plan of salvation, which went well. He had some great questions and has been keeping our commitments!! In the afternoon, we had a lesson with Andrea at her cafe. It was a bit of a struggle because her partner wasn't there to help her so she had to jump in and out of the lesson to help customers. She has read to 1 Nephi 6 in the Kniha Mormonova! We scheduled another lesson for Monday. Then we ran to Věra's to share a spiritual thought with her and to play a hand of uno. We finished the day with weekly planning.

Saturday we went and taught the Glasser's Czech which was fun. We also had a lesson with Radek and talked about how it is a commandment to pray and read the scriptures. Then we had game night. Because it was raining, we played ping pong inside and shared a fun spiritual thought about the commandments and how when we follow them we have the holy ghost with us. Then we cleaned the church to get it ready for Sunday!

Sunday we had a beautiful fast and testimony meeting. We had some visitors from California. Also, 2 of the elders investigators came and one of ours came! Afterwards, we had a lesson with Radek and Bratr Maška about the law of tithing and fast offerings. It went well. Then we went to visit Olína with the Elders, so they could give her the sacrament and so we could teach her a lesson. But, she was sick, so we just went tracking. Then we did a mission wide zasvěcení setkání and set goals for our area. We also made some volání (calls) so that we could schedule lessons for the week. We finished up the day with correlation with President Churdle.

I'm grateful for the little miracles that God puts in our paths every day. He is the true mastermind behind the work. I have truly felt God's love for me this week. We have been busy and there was one day this week I was feeling a little overwhelmed. I hit my knees to say my prayers before bed and this overwhelming love just encircled me. It was like I was being hugged. I know that Hevenly Father loves each one of us and cares about the details of our lives.

Mám vás ráda!!!

S láskou,

Sestra Guymon
