Čau,
Tuesday was quite busy for us. We went running with Daniel early in the morning, who is a YSA member and is really cool. We had a good time and got in a good workout. I love running so much! Sister Juraskova fed us lunch. We read to her and she helped us with our Czech. Then we had district council and the zone leaders were here which was a blast. After that we went to a museum with Leo. It was good to get to know him better. It was cool to see all the old artifacts. Then we shared a spiritual thought with him and he walked to English with us and stayed for a little bit. We taught the conversational class which was a lot of fun. Then we came home and made mushroom soup with the mushrooms that Gita picked for us. Czechs love mushroom hunting, but you have to be careful that you dont pick poisonous ones.
Wednesday we took a train to Prague because sis Rudd had Visa work. Boy was it hot! 98°F! I just about died on the train ride back... it was so warm... air conditioning is hard to come by here. I dont know why. But, we survived and made it back to Plzen. Then we tried to visit a girl we are teaching, but she wasn't home, so we came home and got our studies done.
Thursday was interesting because all the plans we had fell through. We started the day with weekly planning and got that done effectively. Then we took a train to go help a lady move, but she got stuck in traffic that was backed up for 4 kilometers and said it would take her hours to get there, so she told us to go home. So we did our studies, then we tried to visit Kristina. But she wasn't home, so then we went and cleaned the church. Afterwards we had correlation with the Elders and Daniel. Then we talked to everyone we passed on the street and tried to hand out a Kniha Mormonova. We didn't have much luck, but we did find some youth that were interested in sports night.
Friday was busy. We did some service and weeded a garden for a woman which was fun. Then we shared a spiritual thought with her and she talked about some hard things in her life that made her cry, so we did our best to comfort her. We also had a lesson with a man named Chris and we taught him the restoration with vergillio, who is a recent convert. It was a good lesson and Chris asked some great questions. Afterwards, we did a study in the park and I felt the spirit really strong as I studied about Jesus Christ and his attributes. Then we had a lesson with a girl named Zuzka and her mom. We met zuzka on a train going to Plzen and set up with her. Her mom wanted to practice English so we talked about spiritual things in English and started teaching the restoration. It was a good lesson. Then we studied come follow me at the church. Only one person showed up but, we had a good doctrinal discussion.
Saturday we went running with a member and an investigator. At the end, we shared a spiritual thought and it was a lot of fun. We also had a party for people that are moving away like Vergillio, Jitka, and Daniel. I met a lot of new people. Right after that we had sports night and played soccer. :) We had a good spiritual discussion at the end and it was a blast. Then we went back to the church and had a Skype lesson with Andrea. We taught her about the 10 commandments and keeping the sabbath day holy. Thank goodness for technology. It is a huge blessing and truly helps to progress the work while we are serving in two areas which are 2 hours apart. Also, today our new mission President (Gehring) and his family came. He has 5 kids. I'm excited to get to know him, but I will for sure miss President and Sister Phořelicky. They are amazing. Lots of change!
Sunday we got up and walked 45 minutes to get to church. It was a wonderful meeting. I met so many amazing people. I was blown away at everyone's stories. Pretty much every single member in that branch was found by missionaries. Plus, two grandmas I met that day gave me a ton of treats. One of them gave me a studenska bar (chocolate bar!) and the other one made us buchta which is like a cake and kissed me on the cheek. The grandma's here are the absolute best!!! :) Then we went home and packed up our stuff and drug our luggage onto a tram and then to the train. Then the glassers picked us up with their car at the train station in Česke Budějovice and helped us get out luggage home, then they took is to the church for correlation. We are planning some fun activities like a 4th of July party and a movie night in a few weeks. That was basically the day.
Today we got all of our procyliting done, cleaning, and shopping. Then we went to Česky Krumlov which I'll send picture of next week.
I also finished the Book of Mormon on Sunday. I read it in a month in preparation for the new mission president. I love that book so much and I know that it is true. I feel power when I read that book and comfort when I'm having a hard day. I know it truly is the word of God. If you haven't read the Book of Mormon all the way through.... I challenge you to do so. I promise that it will change your life and that you will find a greater abundance of happiness.
I love you all.
S laskou,
Sestra Guymon
