Ahoj,
Tuesday was an interesting day. I've got quite the story for you. We had 3 lessons which was awesome. The first lesson was the interesting one. There was this man I called from the area book. I set up with him and confirmed the meeting. Then when the time came to meet, he was 10 min late, so we called him. He didn't answer, so I sent him a text, no answer. So, we decided to give him 5 more minutes. Then this random guy walked up to me and shook my hand. He asked if I was the one who called him, I said yes, then he gave me a bouquet of flowers and kissed me on the cheek. That took me by surprise. I wasn't quite sure what to do. We then talked to him about prayer and scripture study. This guy is 82 years old and is very spritely. He likes dancing and played a few songs on his harmonica for us. He said he wants to read the whole book of mormon. Then we had another lesson with a lady we set up with from the area book about how in the church we are like one big family. She really liked that and we invited her to church. Then we had a lesson with Radek, we don't have much more to teach him, so we asked what he wanted to be retaught and then the lesson led into repentance and it was really good. It was a lesson led by the spirit. Then we finished the day by teaching our English class. The Glassers were gone, so we had to split up to handle our varying levels of classes. I taught the beginner class.
Wednesday we had district council which was good. I learned a lot. Sestra Rudd and I practiced teaching the restoration and the district gave us feedback. Then we had a lesson with another guy we called from the area book and set up with. It was a really interesting, but also frustrating lesson. He just had different opinions and ideas and wasn't really willing to listen. I don't think we will continue teaching him. Then we came home and did our studies.
Thursday morning we ran with President Churdle and Elders. Then we with split up the less actives in plzen with the Elders, so we can better minister to them. Then we did some fun finding by writing acts of service and pinning them to a board. We walked around the city and invited people to do them. Service is a great way to bring a little joy into the world. Then we had a Skype lesson with Sarah. She has a tough family situation and satan is working to stop her from getting baptized next month. But I have faith. And this girl has determination and a strong testimony of the gospel. I admire her so much. Keep her and her family in your prayers.
Friday we did weekly planning, some finding, and then had a movie night. We watched the movie coco and invited a lot of people. I was really impressed with the turnout. We had a couple families there and a lot of people I had never met before. It was very successful. Then we went to a nice Czech Resturant for dinner with the Elders and the Glassers to celebrate an Elder's 2 year mark and the Glassers 1 year mark on the mission.
Saturday we ran a 5K "ke stromu" with the Elders and President Chrudle. The work was pretty slow today. We did some English chalk displays on the street to get more people to our English class. Then we were supposed to have a lesson with Sarah, but it fell through, so we taught the Glassers Czech. We cleaned the church and then had sports night, but no one showed up sadly. So we came home, and I helped sister Rudd finish preparing her talk for tomorrow.
Sunday we had so many people at church! We had to bring extra chairs into the chapel. We had a lot of visitors. Two of the families were from America and there was another one from ukraine. Sister Rudd gave a great talk about the Holy Ghost. We had a lesson with MengMeng and her husband and focused on who God and Jesus Christ are. They are excited to build their relationship with him and get to know him. It touched my heart when they said it was the most important thing they could do because life is so short. They are a great family. Then we had a Skype lesson with Sarah and that was really good because her mom sat in on the lesson, who is not interested in religious things at all. It was good to show her mom that we are just normal people. Then we had correlation with the branch president, the Elders, and the Glassers. But on the way, we ran into a YSA boy from Ukraine, so we talked to him on the way to the church building. He has met missionaries in Ukraine, but will be here for he summer. He's going to come to our English class and hopefully we can teach him the gospel. It was a cool miracle. Even though we were in a hurry, God put someone in our path that we needed to talk to!
Today was a lot of fun because we got all of our cleaning, shopping and most of our procyliting done. Then we went to Kaplice and met up with a member. Then we went to a castle and then roller skated around a lake. It was beautiful. I sure do love it here and it was really great to get to know our member better. Then our branch president and his family invited us over for dinner. It was a wonderful day.
I know this gospel is true without a doubt. I know that every day is a chance to change your life by growing closer to the Savior. His hand is always stretched out to us in times of trouble and all we have to do is reach out and take it. He will lift us up. He has lifted me up many times on my mission. I know that he loves us. He's my brother, my best friend, and my Savior.
I love you all!
S laskou,
Sestra Guymon
