Ahoj,
Monday it randomly hailed bouncy ball sized hail. We were worried we wouldn't make it to česky Krumlov, but it cleared up and it also cleared out the tourist crowds, which was nice.
Tuesday we got all our our studies done and then walked to the university to talk to people and teach them about the gospel. Then we had a lesson with Radek about repentance and the atonement which was really good. Then we had a party for our English class to celebrate the 4th of July. It was fun. We had icecream sundays and popcorn. I think they enjoyed it.
WEDNESDAY was an INCREDIBLE day because we had training in Prague and got to meet our new mission President. We had to wake up at 4:45 AM to catch a train. We reverently waited for him to come and when he came, we all stood for him in complete silence. The spirit was so strong, I will never forget it. I watched President Gehring's face as he walked in and he teared up, as well did most of the missionaries. Wow, the spirit is just so great. This man is truly called of God. We had a wonderful training and I recieved a lot of encouragement and inspiration. I really needed to hear a lot of things in that training. For example, how powerful our thoughts are and how to align our thoughts with God's. After training, we had 5 min interviews with President Gehring. He told me that I have a special countenance about me and then he got teared up and so did I. He told me that it was likely I would train for the remainder of my mission. That is a big responsibility. I don't know if I'm ready for that, but if God calls me to the work, I will accept. Then we took the metro to catch the train and in the metro there is an old piano that people play on. There were probably 100 people there sitting around waiting for their train, so I played the piano and Starší Graff played the violin. I was a little nervous to play in front of all those people, but they convinced me to do it and I'm glad I did. There were two girls there who asked for our Facebooks as a result, it was cool. Also, later President texted me and said our greenies should come July 23rd!
Thursday we got our studies done in the morning. Then we had a lesson that didn't show up. So we talked to people on the street and found 2 new people to teach. Then we went and shared a spiritual thought with Věra. After that we had a first lesson with a lady named Natalie and she is really cool. I'm excited to meet with her more. We finished the day with weekly planning.
Friday we did a chalk display with the Elders and drew the plan of salvation and advertised our free English class. Then we went and helped the Glassers with Czech. Afterwards, we waited at the church for our lesson to come, they were late, so we called and they rescheduled. Then we came home and worked to clean out the area book, it is a big project trying to prepare to digitalize everything.
Saturday we went and had lunch with one of our investigators. They lived in China and cooked us authentic Chinese food which was really good. We taught them the plan of salvation and they had good questions. Afterwards, we had lesson that didn't show up, so we cleaned the church and got it all ready to go for Sunday. Then we had a lesson with Radek and talked about temples and eternal marriage. He kept telling us random stories, so we had to keep bringing the lesson back around. Then we had sports night which was fun, we met a random person and invited him to start playing frisbee with us. That was cool, we got his number as well, so we can keep inviting him to activities and teach him the gospel. #miracle.
Sunday we had church and had a missionary who finished her mission last transfer come back and visit with her family. Then we packed our things and caught a train to Plzen. We talked to some pretty awesome YSA's for 2 hours who came into our same train cart. We got to teach them about what we do as missionaries and make some new friends. When we got to Plzen, we were invited to go have dinner at Sister Juraskova's house with the Elders and that was really yummy. Then we came home and had correlation over the phone with the česke Budějovice elders.
At training this week, President Gerhing challenged us to pick a passage in the scriptures and truly study it. I have learned so much this week by doing that! My love for the scriptures just keeps on growing!!! I know that as we truly study the scriptures and not just read them, God will reveal things to us and help us understand them better. I have seen that a lot this week. I invite you to try it!
I love you all,
S laskou,
Sestra Guymon
